Classic Movie Club Monster Movie Double Feature In-Person

FRANKENSTEIN (1931) and THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935)

Dr, Frankenstein made the Monster, but the Monster made Boris Karloff a screen legend. His iconic and

poignant portrayal brings tremendous sympathy to a monster trying to understand a hostile world. In

the sequel, as the ads read, The Monster Seeks a Mate! It’s a rare example of a sequel that’s even better

than the original (which was great to begin with). While both films were the basis for parodies in later

years, time has not diminished Karloff’s career-making performance
